Rebirth and Celebration
This past weekend ushered in the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. The Spring Equinox typically means rebirth, renewal, awakening, growth, and new beginnings. I love spring and the anticipation of witnessing flowers starting to emerge from the ground, birds abundantly singing, and trees starting to awaken from a long winter’s nap.
A friend happened to be over collaborating on a project we’d been working on together, and I felt she would be open to a little Spring Equinox celebration I had recently heard about. As soon as I mentioned what I had in mind, she was intrigued and wanted to know more.
The celebration was around what we dream for our own life. We are creating and writing our story every minute of every day whether we realize it or not. We wrote down how we wanted our life to look, including what we wanted, how we wanted to feel, our experiences, and relationships. A guide for us to use and live by.
Then we created our sacred burning ceremony, celebrating the dreams we have for our lives. We stepped outside, lit a candle, said a prayer, read our statements out loud and burned them while we witnessed the ashes floating up into the heavens for the angels to catch and bless.
We also played my theme song as the papers burned (I Choose You, by Sara Bareilles) as we danced around the driveway under the stars. I’m guessing my neighbors thought there might have been a cocktail or two involved but there wasn’t. Just pure love for ourselves and staying open to the infinite possibilities and goodness surrounding us on a beautiful spring evening.
How do you want your life to look? Take time to think about your dreams and the possibilities waiting for you. What story do you want your life to tell? Is it better relationships, a stronger marriage, less stress, more joy, adventurous travel, or a million other options you envision for your life and dreams? It’s a time for rebirth and celebration. Want to join us and rewrite your story?
