Launch Day
It's launch day.....WOO to the HOO! It's the official launch day of the compilation book titled Kindness Crusader and I'm one of the contributing authors. This project has been in the making for almost a year and I'm feeling giddy inside. I've had aspirations of writing a book for a while but always felt overwhelmed by the process. Being part of this compilation book has been a wonderful learning experience for future projects.
The book includes 52 authors with 52 stories; one for every week of the year. It also includes a downloadable calendar that's filled with small acts of kindness we can do throughout the year. The stories in the book and ideas in the calendar are all about kindness in either receiving or giving; my story is a little of both. In addition there is also a companion deck of cards with inspirational quotes to use to brighten your day or someone else's.
The definition of kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. It's so easy to show kindness and often doesn't cost a thing. The kindness you give will be given back ten-fold if you pay attention. Seeing the joy in other's lives will bring peace and joy to your own.
Allowing kindness from others may be challenging at times, but I've learned over the years it's just as important to receive. Giving others the opportunity to feel the same joy as we feel is key to our own growth. You are worthy of receiving kindness.
A recent example I experienced was at a grocery store, the person behind me only had a few items and I offered to let them go ahead of me. They were so appreciative and put a smile on their face. They thanked me as they finished paying; connecting our hearts for just a brief moment but it felt good to both of us. In return, when I least expect it, someone will do the same for me. It may look a bit different but if I pay attention it will happen, again and again.
Let's challenge each other to see how much goodness and kindness we can cast out into the universe and then watch it unfold. Giving and receiving kindness will change your life in ways you've never imagined. Here's to a great launch day......wish me luck!
