Pajama Pant Predicament

Every year since I can remember, we've always worn pajama pants or "jammie pants" as we call them, for the family Christmas Day get-together. Wherever Christmas Day dinner was held, the order of the celebration was to wear your jammie pants......and the crazier the better. It was always such a fun and comfortable holiday being able to wear your pajamas.

In honor of this tradition, each year I would buy a new pair for my children. I always looked for some sort of Christmas or winter theme and this year was no different. I was talking to my daughter and we happened to be chatting about the traditional jammie pants and she mentioned she might like red and black plaid this year.

Fast forward a couple weeks and I happened to be shopping on-line and saw the perfect pajamas for her in red and black buffalo plaid. They were so cute I thought I would order my son and his wife matching blue and black buffalo plaid pajamas. Then I thought maybe we should match as a family and ordered one red buffalo plaid and four blue buffalo plaid. If the kids didn't want to match Hannah could wear the red, Crystal and Andrew could wear the blue and I could wear pajamas I already owned.

I was so excited at the thought of showing up with matching family pajamas and the teasing I was sure would take place from the rest of the family. Unfortunately, one of the blue pair was waitlisted and  I received word the other three blue pairs may not be available at all. Dang.....now what? Maybe I should consider buying red buffalo plaid for everyone if the blue wouldn't be available.

Since my pajamas happened to be the ones waitlisted, I had ordered a pair of red buffalo plaid from another store. Shortly thereafter, I received the one red buffalo plaid I originally ordered for my daughter.

Weeks passed and still hadn't received any notification on the backordered blue and black plaid. I started to panic since Christmas pajama pants are a popular gift and usually the cute ones sell out fast. I ordered two additional red buffalo plaid pants from another store but when they arrived realized I ordered the wrong freaking ones......LOL....FOR THE LOVE OF! I quickly jumped on-line and the correct ones were no longer available so I had to find them at yet another store. Woo-Hoo....I found them and ordered them lightening fast....HA!

Fast forward another week; a box arrived with three blue and black buffalo plaid pajamas....WHAT THE? The next day the two red buffalo plaid arrived. As it turns out, I'm the owner of four red buffalo plaid pants, three blue buffalo plaid pants, two random pairs of pants and one blue buffalo plaid on the way!  Did you keep up with that? TEN....yes, 10 pair of pajama pants for four people! HAHA!

I had to laugh out loud at the thought of ordering 10 pair of Christmas jammie pants! My pajama pant predicament was a funny story and I thought I would share the mishaps in life. Which occur on a regular basis....haha. It's how we choose to handle them is important. I try not to get too upset when things happen or are out of my control and I find when I do; it's usually no big deal and I figure it out and move on. As far as the recent purchases go, I'll keep four, return the two random pair and as for the other four, I will either keep them for next year or send them back as well. One thing for sure.....I'm well prepared for this year's jammie pant day!
