Time of Transition
We’re entering the season of transition for many teenagers, young adults and parents. The ending of one phase and the beginning of another. Many are saying farewell to high-school and hello to higher education. For the parent and child it’s both an exciting yet scary time. As parents, we spend our lives preparing for them to leave the nest but when the time comes, we hesitate for a brief moment and want to desperately take it back.
I went through this experience a few years ago and relate to what parents are feeling, specifically moms. I spent my children’s lives making sure their needs were met before mine. In addition, I stopped paying attention to my desires and focused on everyone else. That’s what moms do.
By the time they were ready to leave the nest I was feeling lost, disconnected from myself, unfulfilled, and empty. Asking myself, “What’s next?” I knew there was more for me, but what? Even though I managed to lose my identity along the journey, I never had any regrets of how I cared for my family.
In this season of change and uncertainty, is your house feeling empty? Do you feel like your mom role is done? Do you wonder how you’ll ever get through the loneliness, while leaving behind the daily hustle and bustle?
My friend, it’s time to discover what lights you up. What brings you joy and new meaning? Picture a future vision for yourself. I believe everyone was put on this earth with special gifts and talents that no one else can duplicate; making each of us, one-of-a-kind.
I’m here to help get you through to the other side. Offering support through my words and heartfelt guidance. It’s time for you to shine and get to know what sets your soul on fire.
Start tapping into your internal wisdom and guidance. Trust me, it’s in your heart, you just need to carefully excavate it. It starts with baby steps, and listening with your heart and soul. What are the things that come easy for you, and bring you joy? What did you love to do as a child? What makes you so happy, you can’t imagine not doing it? Start making a list, and let yourself feel and ask the question…..”What if?” What if, you let go and trusted your heart? What if, you had nothing to lose?
Come with me, challenge yourself in finding your fire in this difficult time of transition, then step into your light. Let go of the fear, loneliness, unfulfilled dreams and doubt. Let me help you feel alive, excited, and whole. You matter. I feel your pain, and I see you!
