This Little Light of Mine

Last week, I found myself singing in the shower; a song that popped into my head that I probably hadn’t heard or sung in a long while. Out of nowhere I was belting out This little light of mine. As I was singing, I wondered why that particular song came forward. All day long, I randomly found myself singing and repeating the lyrics. After reflecting, I determined it must have been either my higher self reminding me of my purpose or I was meant to share the message through my writing that someone was meant to hear.

So here I am, reaching out to you, my audience, as a reminder of all the wonderful qualities and gifts you possess that are waiting to be shared with the world. What are the gifts that come natural and easy for you? What do friends, family and even acquaintances say you are good at doing? What have you always loved to do? Take yourself back to childhood and remember. Remember what brought you joy then and what brings you joy now?

When I was discovering my unique gifts, I reflected on my childhood and remembered how much I loved to write, specifically poetry. Then I remembered as an adult, how much I loved writing in school. It began small and I started again with writing this little weekly blog. Hoping to show my heart so you can connect with both mine and yours.

What are your dreams? Even if they feel unreachable, what small steps can you take toward the end goal? Or, how can you bring the same feeling into your life in another way that provides as much joy? Tap into those beautiful and unique gifts and see what happens; then share them with the world and those around you. Keep repeating, This little light of mine … I’m gonna let it shine, and let your heart shine through. What are you waiting for? The world is ready to receive the light dancing within your soul.
