Crazy Blessed Too
This past weekend I had both the honor and pleasure of facilitating a women’s empowerment weekend with two fellow life coaches. We hosted basically the same Crazy Blessed retreat in the spring and it was such a success we knew we wanted to offer it again. Like the first time, for me, it was meaningful and transformational as a coach. Touching people’s lives and giving them hope, guidance, fellowship and space was a joy.
For three days and two nights, 10 women came together and formed a close bond and sisterhood. We trusted, laughed, supported, cried and held space for one another as we took a leap, head first into a heart healing program. So often we get paralyzed from moving forward in our lives by fear and self-doubt and we’d rather stay stuck than risk the vulnerability of change. If we can trust in our inner guidance and follow our heart, it changes everything.
Many women want more but don’t have any idea of where to begin. Most of the time women are busy working, raising a family and running a household and don’t take the time to do something for themselves. They feel blocked by barriers they may or may not physically see, but feel their existence. However, when a woman learns to trust their heart and courageously jump into action, magic happens.
The retreat helped women move beyond limitations. It was wonderful to witness growth and change and allowing the practice of self-love and acceptance. There were many powerful moments of the weekend but two stand out for me. The first powerful moment for all women was step number seven: releasing. The burn ceremony was a symbol for releasing things such as old wounds, negativity or unhealthy thought patterns. They were thoughtfully written on paper, then neatly folded or crumbled and tossed into an open fire; shifting consciousness and letting go. We watched as the fire consumed the hurt, sadness, regret, doubt and fear, making room for love, gratitude and transformation.
The second powerful moment for all women that stands out was the circle of appreciation. At the end of the retreat we took time to gather in a circle, each wearing a simple necklace made of ribbon and paper placed behind our backs and wrote something we appreciated about each women. A few words can mean so much. The women recognized something truly beautiful about the other women. Joy and gratitude filled the room.
I’m honored to be able to connect women to their hearts and help them trust, listen and use their beautiful wisdom. Until our next workshop or retreat I’d say we’re all crazy blessed too! Be part of the Crazy Blessed sisterhood movement and join us. You can find us on Facebook at Own Your Joy.
