Change is good, right?
A few months ago I started working with a website designer to help update and make improvements and additions to ImperferfectlyCharming.com. I had intended to stay with the same platform and web-hosting service but soon learned it was too hard to maintain if a person didn't know coding. Which I might point out, includes me!
When my website designer mentioned she wanted to move my site, I dug my heels in at first and then slowly over time realized I needed something easier to manage. Since I'm not tech-savvy by any means, I was afraid to take the leap but a few weeks ago while meeting with her, it somehow took a turn for the unexpected. I agreed to not only change my platform and web hosting but I also agreed to use another name for my life coaching and soon I'll have my hypnotherapy certification. Let me tell you......this was a GIANT LEAP for me. I really needed to think about what the new name would be.
After meeting again last week, I explained to Brit, my designer, I loved my original name Imperfectly Charming and didn't want to let go, but she said I could still use it for the blog and use the new name for my services. In a panic, I decided I'd use Sheryl Beth.com since it was available, paid for the domain and before I could blink, Brit had my website changed and published under the new platform, Squarespace. Oh my gosh......I silently panicked, Brit saw my face and assured me everything would be OK. Trust and growth were the two words I remember.
I left the coffee shop that day in a blur and didn't really know what hit me. For the love of, since the blog was already published, she sent an email without me double and triple checking it.......the perfectionist in me freaked....ugh. The next day I learned there was a glitch.....LOL. So, while we work out the kinks with the emails and posts, patience is needed with the process. It's a better format, there's more information, more offerings and overall better look and feel. I'm growing and pushing myself along my journey....even if I'm being pushed....HA. After all, they say change it good, right?
