Blooming With Wellness
Summer’s been in a blazing glory in the midwest. Oddly enough, it seems like we completely missed spring again and the weather went from winter directly to hot. Summer flowers are in full bloom with their pretty colors, textures, shapes, sizes and variety. Just as the flowers are blooming, so am I am and a small group of women. We enrolled in a summer series program titled, Bloom with Wellness.
Bloom with Wellness is a program to create personal health and wellness goals while connecting the mind, body and spirit. We’re already into our fifth session and feel completely connected to the group, as we are all like-minded women, wanting to challenge ourselves and set goals for improving life. We are there to support one another, hold space for one another and lift each other up.
Week two was about setting SMART goals. If you haven’t ever had the opportunity to create SMART goals, you may want to give it a try.
S = Specific (the goal should be specific, but in our class we also included self in this category) How will this goal help me become the best version of myself?
M = Measurable (the goal you create should be measured as a way to make sure the goal is being completed) How will I know when this goal is accomplished?
A = Attainable (the goal shouldn’t be so lofty that you aren’t able to complete) How will I make sure this goal isn’t out of my reach, but still impactful?
R = Relevant (the goal should be worthwhile and meet my needs) How does this goal fit into my immediate and long term plans?
T = Timely (the goal should include a time limit) How do I create a sense of urgency for the goal?
Now that you know about SMART goals, come along with me as I continue blooming with wellness and creating goals and challenges for myself. If you haven’t already, now is the time to set some goals and be on your way to the path of making your dreams come true. What have you been meaning to do but haven’t made the time to complete? What have you been dreaming about but think there isn’t enough time? Making the time is part of self-love and soul-care our bodies, minds and souls need. Stretch yourself, make a commitment to attaining the goal small or big, then celebrate in the beautiful victory! You are worth it!
