Unexpected Wisdom

Once upon a weekend, a group of women gathered for a transformative retreat. Each was asked to bring a gem of wisdom, a "knowing" within their hearts to offer one another. And so, I chose to share an often overlooked but deeply vital treasure: the importance of making time to play, a concept we, as adults, often neglect like an unread book gathering dust on a shelf.

I had asked each woman to think of a joyful time in their childhood and relive the memory as well as share the story in our sacred circle. I began to reminisce about a childhood memory of my own, a moment sprinkled with magic, joy, and wonder. I was instantly taken back to the time, day, and feelings I experienced. As I told my story, everyone could feel the joy and childhood magic each detail contained. One by one each woman shared a story, told their truth, and relived a happy and innocent time of their childhood.

We were a circle of women, eyes gleaming, each clutching a bottle of bubbles like an artifact from a long-forgotten time. While telling our stories, we rediscovered the forgotten art of play through a simple bottle of pure joy, which became our wand of transformation. Each bubble a fleeting world that captured the essence of our most cherished childhood memories as they danced in the air. We unleashed the magic within because life is too beautiful not to celebrate through bubbles and shared stories.

The bubbles became more than mere soap and water. They morphed into tiny, effervescent globes of wonder, attached with our laughter, and the richness of our lived experiences. We watched as they soared through the sky, delicate and fragile, each bubble represented a fragment of our own existence.

After each women shared, it was time for the final step: the blowing of wish bubbles. Suddenly, our humble bottles of bubbles were transformed into vessels of liquid magic. Cinderella's wisdom danced in our minds: "A dream is a wish your heart makes." And so, with wistful eyes and hopeful hearts, we whispered our deepest wishes into the delicate spheres. Up, up, and away they floated, taking our dreams into the embrace of the universe.

That afternoon was a testament to the transformative power of play, a reminder that joy doesn't need to be complex or grand. Sometimes, all it takes is a tiny wand brimming with liquid magic. In the simplicity of a bubble, we each found a mirror to our soul, a sparkling reminder of our innate ability to dream, to wish, and to play.

So, beautiful souls, I invite you to open your bottle of joy today. Blow bubbles of happiness, wishes, and dreams. For, as fleeting as these bubbles are, they're a gentle reminder that each moment is worth savoring, each joy worth capturing, and each story worth sharing. And, remember the unexpected wisdom in a simple, iridescent bubble. Your inner child and goddess is calling, will you answer?
