Unexpected Blessings

Everyone faces unforeseen events in their life that can turn a world upside down; but having faith that things are exactly as they should be is becoming easier for me to embrace.

Last week an important person in my family’s life had unexpected health issues that stopped us in our tracks.  In that moment, nothing was more important than being together.  Everything else melted away…troubles, responsibilities and day to day duties. Family and friends came together to lift up and support one another.

Trust me, we had bumps along the way, and some ideas of handling things were different from person to person, but our goals were all the same; our loved one’s health was number one. We worked together like a well-oiled machine to accomplish what we needed.

As decisions were made and preparations completed, we anxiously waited for news that all would be well. We placed our loved one in the hands of surgeons and we needed to trust and have faith that the outcome would be just as it should.

We have a long journey ahead, but have experienced so many unexpected blessings along the way. The good Lord has been guiding us and providing what we need.  Grace shows up in ways that can be subtle and yet, sometimes bigger than we realize.  I am grateful for the family and friends that have provided strength, prayers and well wishes.

Even though some may not see these events as positive or blessings, I consider my family fortunate to have the faith that circumstances are exactly as they are meant to be.  I’ll continue to look for unexpected blessings along the way; they are everywhere if you allow them to be seen and felt in your heart.
