Nothing Is Worth More Than This Day
Do you ever see a quote or saying you immediately connect with? That happened to me a few months ago and since then, it’s been my current favorite quote, which I try to acknowledge on a daily basis. It’s so simple, yet so profound.
While at a women’s retreat I hosted with two fellow-coaches, one of the activities on our agenda was to create a vision board. A vision board is simply a collection of images and words representing a persons dreams, wishes and goals. It could embody one goal or many; it’s completely personal and up to the creator. It’s what they want to attract into their life.
Usually as a coach, we’re busy making sure everyone has what they need and never get a chance to create our own vision board. This time, however, once everyone was either finished or on their way to being done, I was able to sit down and gather my words and images. Supplies as usual, were strewn across the table with favorite selections and styles carefully chosen and had clearly dwindled down to slim pickings….haha. I hadn’t been sitting at the table for more than five minutes and came across a phrase I outwardly stated I couldn’t believe it had been left behind. Then realized it was meant just for me. It quickly spoke to my heart and anchored my frame. I think it was the fastest vision board I’d ever completed. I didn’t really think or stress about it. The images and words seemed to present themselves to me as if by magic, and within minutes I was finished.
It was a joy to watch the women ponder and create what they wanted to attract in their lives. What appealed to one woman may not be noticed by another, as everyone is on their own journey. The table was filled with lively conversation, laughter and connecting with each other as new friends. Just as the women were wonderfully unique, so were their beautifully hand-crafted, vision boards. Each one proudly transformed a picture frame into their own little keepsake that spoke to their heart about their own desires and dreams.
The straightforward quote that caught my eye was, “Nothing is worth more than this day.” It’s uncomplicated yet so meaningful. This day is all we really have. How do you want to show up for it? How will you make it memorable or make a difference? Live each day like it’s the only one that matters and then if we get another chance tomorrow, repeat.
