Love is in the Air
“Love is in the air everywhere I look around. Love is in the air every sight and every sound,” - Tom Jones. If you’ve followed me in the past, you may remember how much I love Valentine’s Day and February; the month of love. Although I don’t have a significant other, I find ways to connect with my loved ones.
Spending time with special people can strengthen bonds, reduce stress, encourage communication, and create memories. Of course when I’m referring to spending time with family and friends, I’m speaking of those that lift you up, and not tear you down. Your circle of ride or die crew. It’s important to stay connected to the ones you can count on; especially in today’s climate of change and uncertainty.
For example, this month, I’ve spent the day with my bestie taking a class that paired indulgent chocolates with unusual and delicious mocktails, took a walk with a friend, reached out to another dear friend that moved away, dined in a bubble under the snow moon and stars with my family, went to a candle-making class with three close girlfriends, had coffee with my sister-in-law, spent time weekly with my precious grand baby, surprised my daughter with a special home-cooked Valentine’s Day meal and chocolate/wine pairing, and enjoyed a relaxing pedicure. Plus, I still have the second half of the month to spend time with more people I love.
I encourage you to make an effort to connect or reconnect with those people that are your ride or die. Doing things doesn’t have to cost a dime. It can be as simple as a phone call, text, game night, in-home coffee date, walk, or any other activity you enjoy. I’m thankful love is in the air. In addition, remember to give your own heart some daily love. Look around, love is everywhere.
