It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Soon.
This week I’ll be saying goodbye to one of my besties. She’s moving away after many years in the area. We’ve lived in the same neighborhood since 2006 but met many years earlier when our daughters played on a softball league together.
When I met Beth for the first time, I had a gut feeling we would be great friends. I loved her gentle manner and kind heart. She was a little shy but I was drawn to her beautiful spirit and we instantly clicked. Each softball game we sought each other out and became fast friends.
Our daughters played softball, soccer and attended cheerleading together. Even though the girls ended up at different schools that didn’t deter our friendship. Over the years, we’ve spent time together laughing, leaning on each other, crying and consoling one another with complete support and non-judgement. We’ve celebrated our victories and cried over our defeats. We’ve lifted each other up and laughed our asses off.
I remember the day she broke the news she’d be moving. We had just arrived at yoga and as we opened our mats and sat side by side, I cried. Even though I completely understood her reasons, it cut right through my heart.
Our journey together isn’t over, we’ll be life-long friends. I found this heartfelt quote for my friend, “Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again” -author unknown. To my beautiful, caring and forever friend, it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon.

PS….The best news of all is Beth will be joining me in Hawaii for a goodbye celebration and a tropical drink or two……or three! Love that girl.
