Crazy Blessed

In January, when I was in Florida with two fellow life coaches, we spent most of the time working on our businesses, but made time to enjoy the weather and surrounding area. One afternoon while shopping, my friend found and fell in love with a sign that read, “Crazy Blessed” and she had to have it. During our stay our other fellow coach that was unable to make the trip, reached out with an opportunity to host a women’s weekend retreat and she found the perfect venue. We had hosted four-hour retreats together in the past, but hadn’t tackled anything longer. We were excited about a new adventure together and it somehow felt right; the name of our weekend retreat would be titled, “Crazy Blessed” women’s weekend retreat.” The sign Karen purchased…..was our sign!

Once we had the title, the venue and possible caterer, the weekend started taking shape. Week after week we met to make the event come to life. It morphed over time, but I was feeling something wasn’t quite right, until one meeting when one of the coaches had an idea that would tie things together. Once she said it out loud, we knew in our hearts it was exactly what we were meant to teach. The entire weekend would revolve around healing the heart; mentally, emotionally and spiritually,

As if by magic, fate, divine timing or whatever you believe in, things started coming together like gang-busters; everything was working out. Each time I worked on portions of the weekend, I felt pure joy….frankly, I was giddy. I knew the weekend would be transformational not only to the participants, but for the coaches as well.

The retreat was held at a charming bed and breakfast outside of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The owner was spiritually on the same page as we were, so things naturally aligned. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, felt warm, inviting, cozy and each room had an inspirational word above the doorway; clarity, tranquil, harmony, awaken and joy. Stones were gathered and the names of each room along with the number of beds in the room were painted and laid on a table to welcome our guests. Upon arriving at the inn, each guest selected the rock and name that spoke to their heart, which determined their roommate and room they would call home for the next three days.

We used the inn’s caterer which turned out to be a dream. We didn’t have to worry about cooking nutritious meals for the women, they were lovingly prepared, delivered and beautifully presented. Each meal was shared while getting to know one another, along with great conversation and plenty of laughter. At night little treasures were laid upon each bed as a gift to our women and symbol of how special each of their hearts were.

The women came to the retreat open to discover, heal, and connect with one another. They showed their venerabilities and provided love and compassion for one another. It was a weekend of opening our hearts to heal and grow, using self-love and self-compassion. The retreat couldn’t have been more heartfelt and genuine; it was women lifting-up women; for that I’d say, we’re crazy blessed.
