1, 2, 3.....Say Cheese

They say laughter is the best medicine and good for the soul, and happens to be one of my favorite things to do. When I’m laughing with friends, family, even strangers, my day gets brighter. Truth be told, I’ve often laughed out loud to myself about humorous things I’ve seen, heard or done. There are certain events that may have happened long ago, but when the memory pops up, I find myself laughing as if it just happened all over again.

At my son’s and new daughter’s recent wedding, a photo booth with absurd props was available during the reception, to capture all the wackiness and fun had by the guests. Let me tell you, this girl was so excited and had a great time dragging friends and family to pose any which way, but normal.

We adorned our heads with hats, crowns, horns, glasses, masks, mustaches, and other assorted items. We wore frog and fish hats, became firemen, policemen, pimp-daddy’s and even a princess or two. You had exactly three seconds, then FLASH…..1,2,3 FLASH……1,2,3 FLASH, and wa-la….a strip of pictures appeared to capture the moments. My Mom even got in on the action as a pirate…lol.

I hardly took any pictures at the wedding with my own camera, since I wanted to be in the moment and frankly, completely forgot, but having the photo booth, allowed everyone to jump into the picture at a moment’s notice and make lasting memories.

The wedding was not only heartfelt and personal, it was happy and fun and having the photo booth made the ordinary, extraordinary from the 1, 2, 3….say cheese. While writing this post and looking through the photos I’ve been laughing at flashbacks of the evening. The best part of dragging my friends and family to the photo booth was they easily came, no questions. They wanted to make just as many fun and crazy memories as much as I did. Sometimes nonsensical things are the best, wouldn’t you agree?
