A Snow Globe Moment

Recently, I had the joy of spending quality time with my daughter, a gift I never take for granted. Life moves so quickly, and finding these moments to pause, connect, and truly enjoy each other's company feels like a blessing.

We started the evening by making dinner together, chatting and laughing as we worked side by side in the kitchen. There’s something so grounding about preparing a meal with someone you love; it’s simple, collaborative, and full of warmth. We talked about everything: our week, funny moments, and the little things that often get lost in the hustle of everyday life.

After dinner, we decided to brave the January chill and head outside to her hot tub. Bundled in robes, we quickly tiptoed through the cold air and slipped into the warm water. The sky above was a canvas of stars, twinkling in a way that made you stop and take notice of just how magical a quiet winter night can be.

As we soaked in the soothing water, our conversation turned to goals and dreams. There’s something about being under the vastness of the night sky that inspires openness and possibility. We shared hopes for the future, laughed about how some dreams have shifted over the years, and cheered each other on for the steps we’re taking to make them a reality.

At one point, I mentioned how perfect the moment would be if big, fluffy snowflakes started to fall. It was one of those whimsical thoughts you say out loud, not expecting anything to come of it. But within minutes, the sky responded.

The snow began to fall, soft and silent, transforming our moment into what felt like a living snow globe. We sat there, mesmerized by the beauty of the flakes landing on the water, our shoulders, lashes, and cheeks, each one glistening for a brief moment before disappearing. It was breathtaking.

We couldn’t stop laughing and marveling at how surreal it felt. It was as if the universe knew we needed this reminder of wonder and a simple, perfect gift of nature.

As the snow continued to fall, I felt such gratitude for this time with my daughter. These moments don’t need grand plans or expensive outings to be meaningful. They remind us of the beauty in slowing down, in being present, and in sharing space with someone you love. As a mom, there’s nothing more fulfilling than witnessing the incredible woman your daughter is becoming, while still finding joy in the playful, light-hearted connection you’ve always shared.

Whether it’s a snow globe moment, a quiet dinner, a walk in the park, or an evening under the stars, take the time to connect with those you love. It’s in these simple, heartfelt moments that life’s true magic is found. Make time this week to connect with someone you love. Whether it’s a long phone call, a shared meal, or an evening under the stars, these moments are priceless.
